Engines

The Yanmar 4JH2BE 54 HP engine powers the boat comfortably through seas and against currents. It is reliable and fuel efficient, burning no more than 1 gallon per hour on average. Parts and service centers are readily available worldwide.

This particular engine has been serviced regularly by an owner who understands the need to maintain engines very well.

The engine is located under the companionway steps, and is accessed on either side as well as from the front. The steps can be removed, and the locking engine hatch cover can be removed, granting access to the front of the engine. On the port side, in the aft cabin, is a hinged door that gives one access to the alternator and starter motor.

On the starboard side of the engine is a hinged door giving access to the injector pump, fuel and oil filters. The Racor housing is mounted on the door, which when opened swing out, making either changing the filter or bleeding the engine extremely easy. There is an electric pump switch attached to the Racor assembly to facilitate this.

Access to the transmission and shaft is in the aft cabin, under the berth.
