"Sea Racer" is a 2002 Nordic Tugs 42 that has been lovingly cared for by its owners. No expenses spared. Mechanicals on board are fined tuned and she is ready for cruising this summer. She comes outfitted with Achilles tender and davit, two kayaks, deck chairs and a BBQ, a combo washer/dryer, even a deep freezer. The best part is the layout, with 2 cabins with their own heads, in separate parts of the vessel. The Nordic 42 features a roomy layout and a large ship-style helm. The bridge also features a large chart table, 360 degree view and convenient access directly to the deck. Powered by Cummins C Series, the Nordic 42's top speed is 18 knots, cruise 14 knots, or slow her down to 9 knots and burn under 3 gals / hour. Built to take the roughest passage with confidence, the hard chine semi-displacement hull gives this tug a stable quiet ride. The hull is hand laid fiberglass construction with full keel to protect the rudder and propeller. She features a spacious walk-around queen stateroom with private head, guest stateroom with head, U-shape galley, and large salon.

Salon:

  • Settees - L-Shaped settee with table with leaves (Table lowers), and settee for two across from the first settee.
  • Vanities - There are 2 vanities with louvered countertops, and plenty of storage
  • Floor covering - Floor is carpeted, just dry cleaned March 2019. Green/sand material, in good condition.
  • Windows - 7 windows, all opening make for plenty of ventilation. The windows have 2-way shades, dark blue "blackout” types and white privacy shades.

Master Cabin:

  • Located all the way forward, the Master Cabin is totally separate from the guest cabin, with it’s own head. Go past the pilothouse and to starboard head down a set of curved stairs. About 7 feet of clearance.
  • Berth - Queen sized island berth. Climb on either side. About 2 1/2 feet of space by the forward bulkhead.
  • Storage - 2 lockers on either side of the berth make for nice access from the bed. Then to port and starboard there is on each side a smaller hanging locker, 2 deep drawers and an opening locker. Two more wide and deep drawers underneath the berth. Very impressive storage in this cabin.
  • Ports and hatches - One large opening hatch above, round Bomar opening ports on either side.

Master Head/Shower:

  • The Master Head has about 6 1/2 feet of clearance, and a separate shower stall.
  • Head - Vacuflush head
  • Sink - Button to push hot water forward
  • Hatch - Round Bomar opening hatch lets natural light in. 

Guest Cabin:

  • Midship Guest Cabin has a separate stairwell from salon, provides privacy from mast cabin. Has heating pipped in.
  • Beds - 2 Bunk beds, Full size. Upper bunk has lee cloth.

  • Starter battery - (2) 4D for engine, (1) for Generator. Replaced genset battery in 2018.

Recent Upgrades And Servicing


Partial List of Upgrades and Maintenance:

  • Current owners of past 12 years have used Hatton Marine and Monkey Fist for servicing. Engine has been run once a month at a minimum, and have gotten regular servicing each year. Boat gets washed about twice a month.
  • 2019 (May) - Rebuilt Turbo, new exhaust with wrap
  • 2019 (April) - Yearly engine maintenance. Pulled oil samples of engine, gear and generator (Available Upon Request). Removal and testing of heat exchanger.
  • 2019 (April) - Bottom repainted, Bow thruster prop replaced.
  • 2019 (March) -  Hull and Through-Hulls inspection.
  • 2019 (March) - Compounding and Waxing of Hull and Deck; Carpets inside cleaned.
  • 2019 (Feb) - Zincs replaced, Propeller balanced.
  • 2018 - Replaced generator Battery, Water Heater with Kuuma 20 Gallon Capacity Heater
  • 2017 (April) - Engine and genset service. oil samples pulled, looks good. Install new solenoid on starter.
  • 2017 - Replaced tender with 9' Achilles Inflatable tender with fiberglass hard bottom. Replaced Fresh Water Pump and Bow Thruster Battery
  • 2016 - Replaced outboard with Mercury 6 HP, replaced water thermostat on engine cooling system
  • 2015 (August) - Engine and Genset service. Cleaned after cooler, serviced.
  • 2015 - Replaced Freedom Marine 2500w Inverter
  • 2014 (June) - Engine and genset service 
  • 2014 - Replaced Chartplotter and Repeater (With same generation Raytheon)
  • 2013 (June) - Engine and genset service
