EXCEPTIONAL VESSEL, EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION!
A popular model, the Nordhavn 46 is a distinctive pilothouse trawler with a ballasted, full-displacement hull and the sturdy profile of a North Sea Trawler.
The attention to detail found throughout this top-tier yacht is simply exceptional. Two interiors were offered in the Nordhavn 46. The original layout (Plan A) has the owner’s stateroom amidships, and Plan B—found in most later models—has the master stateroom forward.
Plan B, both staterooms accessed from the salon. A U-shaped galley with Sub-Zero refrigeration is forward to port in the salon.
The pilothouse, four steps up from the salon, includes a watch berth and port/starboard deck doors. From the cockpit, the asymmetrical salon is offset to port leaving a single, starboard-side walkway from the cockpit to the bow through the Portuguese bridge.
A total of 82 Nordhavn 46 trawlers were built, nine with a flybridge. (The last 16 hulls had fiberglass fuel tanks rather than steel.)
According to the Nordhavn, no other production boat has had as many ocean crossings as the Nordhavn 46. A Lugger 143hp diesel will cruise at 6 to 8 knots with a range of 3000 miles.
Everything you need in a one owner custom, go anywhere one of a kind liveaboard.
Some custom features include the custom side door, the one of a kind rear docking station, the custom stainless steel bow pulpit, and her hinged tower. (19' clearance)
Why Nordhavn?
Nordhavns are the toughest production trawlers built. If you plan to sail in big waters or even protected waters that experience substantial weather changes, and if you want to ensure that your family is in the safest and most comfortable vessel under any conditions, Nordhavn is clearly your best choice.
Why the 46?
The 46’ model was the original hull that made Nordhavn famous. It was designed without compromise to meet the exacting requirements spelled out by Robert Beebe, the “grandfather” of the ocean crossing power boat.
The Nordhavn 46 is a tough, well thought out boat with a well-deserved reputation. Many other 46’s are cruising the islands and oceans of the world – more than any other boat or model ever built.
Why "EAGLES' NEST”?
The EAGLES NEST was built and maintained to the top standards. Cruised between Mexico and Alaska through the Panama Canal and up the Mississippi to the freshwaters of Lake Michigan and then on to Lake Superior.
What this means to you is that you can purchase a proven vessel that has been designed and maintained for open ocean cruising. This means redundancy. This means safety gear. This means continual attention to maintenance and improvements. This boat is ready to move aboard and go anywhere.
Special Features of the “EAGLES' NEST”
PAE built 82 Nordhavn 46’s. Of these, the last 16 hulls included some important improvements, including fiberglass tanks rather than steel, American wiring, and other design enhancements. EAGLES NEST is Hull #78, is one of this special class of 46’s.
EAGLES' NEST is a Plan B design, with the master stateroom forward. This is a great design for a cruising couple. The master cabin is located further from the salon for privacy. It enjoys more light and fresh air thanks to 3 opening overhead hatches.
The best thing about the Plan B design is that there isn’t a staircase forward from the pilothouse, leaving more room for charts and other navigation tools. As a result, the pilothouse is a more separate space, a private room when at the dock and easier to keep dark for night passages.
EAGLES' NEST has an enclosed cockpit.
Why EAGLES' NEST?
Bring your seabag, a sack of groceries, and a good book. Fire up the engine and throw off the ties that bind you. This beautiful, proven vessel is ready to take you anywhere in the world, safely and comfortably.
All these systems were in proper working order when they were shut down, owners did not need these options since 2005.
