Elixir ,previously named Idler and then Goblin, is an N/M 50 built out of Kevlar by Goetz Custom Boat Building for George David in 1998,  At the time Mr. David was CEO of United Technologies. Kenny Read was the project manager and no expense was spared during the build. After a successful race record in the Chicago area, the boat was stored for 3 years in a heated building at Crowley's Yacht Yard in Chicago. The boat then sold to an avid racer in the Los Angeles area and was renamed Elixir. After a few successful years of racing in the southern California PHRF fleet, the boat underwent an extensive refit which included all new reinforced deck, redesigned stern section, a fixed bow-sprit, and much more!

Elixir is equipped with an upgraded Ockam race system with 8 displays including 5 jumbos on the mast. Full computer navigation is below at a designation nav station. The boat comes with 6 adjustable pipe berths, built in igloo cooler holders, small galley, and a separate enclosed head. The pedestal, wheel, and bowsprit are carbon with a custom blue tint added. The mast and rudder are also both carbon. She is equipped with Lewmar recessed winches and a rigid vangmaster.  The sail inventory is extensive with some sails hardly used. The masthead kites and a code zero give the boat power in light air. Elixir has astonishing speed upwind in light air and after the refit she is much stiffer in a big breeze. Overall this boat is turn key ready for both offshore and inshore racing!
