An imposing yacht with world-class amenities, the Alexander 548 will appeal to upscale buyers looking for a heavily built long-range cruiser from a top-tier builder. A broad 17'6" beam provides this yacht with a tremendous amount of living space.
Her split-level interior begins with a spacious salon with sectional sofa, wet bar, entertainment center, and high-gloss teak paneling and cabinets. The pilothouse, three steps up from the salon, boasts a large U-shaped galley with granite counters, side-by-side refrigerator and garbage disposal, circular dinette forward, and a centerline helm position with excellent outside visibility.
Note the inside flybridge steps aft of the dining area—a feature not always found in a boat this size. There are three staterooms and two full heads below including an opulent master with king-size berth, and an equally impressive VIP stateroom forward with queen berth.
Note the spacious walk-in engineroom with standing headroom. Wide side decks and a large cockpit with transom door and lazarette storage under are a plus.
Layout & Accommodations
When walking onto "Cougars' Gold" you first notice the large custom FRP swim platform with safety rails. Up two steps throught the transom door and you are in the spacious teak decked cockpit with access forward to the salon, sidecks, and Flybridge via S/S ladder. There is also a large gas strut assisted hatch to the Lazarette and Engine room. The Salon is forward with large L Settee and comfortable leather chairs w/ottomans. Up three Steps in the Pilothouse and Galley, all on the same level. The galley U-shaped and off to the starboard side. Forward is the helm with a large settee. To starboard, a pilothouse door to the side deck and a curved stairwell runs down the three staterooms. To Port is the other pilothouse door and stairs up to the Flybridge. Other highlights:
Entering the Salon from the cockpit through the sliding door you are immediately aware of the beautiful teak woodwork bathed in plenty of natural light. The Salon and its seating areas are well laid out for comfort and ease of entertaining guests. Forward is a large Corian topped cabinet with plenty of storage. Other features include:
Up three steps from the Salon is the Pilothouse. The helm, galley, and settee are all on this raised level. The galley to starboard is U-shaped and open to the Salon which gives you open sight fore and aft. To port is the large L-shaped settee with table adjacent to the helm so you and your guests enjoy the cruising experiences together. To port are the stairs to the Flybridge. The stairs and handrail give you a secure jump to the upper helm when you want to enjoy the outside station.
The U-shaped Galley to starboard is well designed offering plenty of food preparation space, storage, and is equipped with solid full size appliances. Food and pantry storage is abundant with the overhead and under counter storage cabinets as well as plenty of drawers for flatware related cooking utensils.
