Description

Are you ready for the "Great Escape"?  If so, Swan Song is the perfect yacht for you.  She is a totally seaworthy trawler that can take you anywhere you want to go.  As a matter of fact, she just just arrived in the Long Beach area from Honolulu after what is considered a very difficult 2800 nm passage up wind, up wave and up current. Several days of waves over 12', one day of over 15' in gale conditions and a broadside of over 20' have proven her 'ship like construction' and passage-making performance. She's a proud ship and is now ready and awaiting new owners to live the cruising lives of their dream.

Seeing the world from the sea is entirely different . Her current owners have cruised the Caribbean, South America, Central America, Mexico and the Hawaiian Islands over the last decade plus. She has been continuously updated by her very knowledgeable owners. Check her current equipment list and you'll have an idea of what to expect when you come aboard to view her.

"Swan Song" just completed a transit from Hawii via the West Coast.  Long Beach to Balboa, Panama 3400 nm 1400 gals of diesel! Canal transit and then into the Caribbean up to Jamaica, over to Cancun, Mx and then across the Gulf of Mexico to Ft Myers, Fl another 1800 nm. Only two crew on board for most of the time with several aboard for the Canal transit. 52 days total underway from Honolulu to Ft Myers, 8000 nm, 150 nm/day average. ART worked outstanding, crew was always amazed ;-) More of a small Expedition Yacht than a trawler is the best description. "Swan Song" has incredibly well thought out systems and impeccable structural integrity.  Read the full specifications for a better understanding of this remarkable vessel.

Electrical Systems

When not connected to shore power all 110 systems run off the inverters. The batteries are always charged underway by the 250 amp 24 volt alternator.   When the engine is off all 110 volt system run off the 2 4KW inverters. When the battery voltage drops to 12.2 volts under load the generator auto starts and each inverter switches to supply 110 AC from the genset and primarily charge the batteries at any rate upto 120 amp each. It runs for 2 1/2 hrs and auto shuts down.  Basically the inverters have two sets of AC inputs...Shore power or genset power. If either of these are present then they switch to pass thru mode. Pass thru mode allows them to charge the batteries IF the current input is greater than the load current needed at any given instant. This is a dynamic changing charge current as the load changes on each inverter.

  • 12 VDC, 24 VDC and 110VAC systems

Deck, Hull, And Structure

Between 2000 and 2006 ALL decking and sidewalls have been replaced along with most bulkhead and many added beams and structure for offshore work. The entire house structure is insulated. The pilothouse has ½” Diamond Seaglaze tempered safety glass in forward windows and ⅜” Diamond Seaglaze tempered safety glass side windows.  The opening ports in the hull are bronze castings with Lexan panes.

On top of the pilothouse is the ART - a passive Anti Roll Tank. Mounted on top of the pilothouse it is basically a 1500 lb pendulum that is 180 degrees out of phase with the roll period of Swan Song. it cancels the natural roll by 75% or more from boat at rest to to max boats speed 9.8 kts. Anyone on the boat in a seaway is alway blown away by how little Swan Song rolls. the ART is more stable than a Zero Speed fin active stabilization system.
