Overview

OVERVIEW

PURA VIDA is a 2017 Azimut Magellano 66 with under 350 original hours with more options onboard than any other Magellano 66 ever built including: watermaker, Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, Raymarine touchscreen monitors, joystick controls, Apple TV throughout, upgraded interior decor package, custom Williams 385 jet tender, blue hull color and extended 5-year warranty (transferable to new owner).

PURA VIDA won the "Most Innovative Yacht" award in its class the year it was introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

The Magellano 66 is an all-weather yacht that offers comfortable navigation and excellent seakeeping both in calm sea conditions and in moderate to rough seas.

Thanks to the ample autonomy provided by large fuel tanks and the possibility to navigate at displacement speed in full comfort, the Magellano 66 can be presented to the market as modern and sophisticated long-range cruiser able to guarantee to the most demanding yachtsmen the maximum cruising freedom.

In calm seas, the navigation is really pleasurable, reaching a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 16-18 knots and a range of 500nm at economical speeds.

But the real essence of the Magellano comes out as soon as she starts to ride in moderate and rough seas. Thanks to the dual-mode hull - a unique combination of vertical bow with the inverted bell shape of the hull forward section - the stress usually generated by the impact with the sea is completely eliminated.

The tendency to slam is significantly reduced, the boat cutting easily through the waves and reducing the vertical acceleration. At the same time, the important volume of the forward section provides a constant reserve of buoyancy that helps reduce the pitching amplitude.

The overall cruising comfort is top class, especially if you compare it with other planing hull yachts on the market in similar condition.

The second relevant characteristic of the Magellano is the superior seakeeping and excellent cruise stability you may experience also in beam and following seas. The rounded shape of the hull along the centerline makes the motion smoother and more gradual, avoiding sudden heeling typical of hard chine planing hulls.
