Mistral is a Herreshoff design #73 Schooner. Mistral is LOD 63', LOA 83' including the bowsprit. Mistral was built in 1938 at the Britt Brothers Yard in Saugus, MA. Mistral was rebuild by Jack Tar Marine of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in 1996 and completed by Gannon & Benjamin in2000 located in Martha's Vineyard, MA. The second restoration included major hull and deck work was done by Matthias Paulsen shipyard, Arnis, Germany, in 2007 and 2008. The original hull structure was reinforced by 6 structural ring frames of laminated Mahogany. The hull was re-planked and covered with epoxy resin and cloth.The main deck and bulwarks were completely renewed. The main cabin was restored, including the galley and chart table area and all interior furniture is done in light Cherry wood.
