A Platform supply vessel (often abbreviated as PSV) is a ship specially designed to supply offshore oil and gas platforms.[1] These ships range from 50 to 100 meters in length and accomplish a variety of tasks. The primary function for most of these vessels is logistic support and transportation of goods, tools, equipment and personnel to and from offshore oil platforms and other offshore structures. In the recent years a new generation of Platform Supply Vessel entered the market, usually equipped with Class 1 or Class 2 Dynamic Positioning System.
This vessel was built and operated by Edison Chouest. ECO supports the majority of the U.S. Gulf deepwater operations and an expanding global market with its fleet of highly specialized new generation offshore service and supply vessels. The growing demand worldwide for Chouest vessels is evidenced by recent deployments to South America, Africa and beyond.
The majority of ECO vessels are designed, engineered and built at Chouest-affiliated shipyards. These world-class shipbuilding facilities are models of operational integrity. Equipped to accommodate a wide range of new construction projects, as well as repairs, conversions and refits, ECO shipyards are expertly managed to ensure absolute quality control and strict delivery schedules.
