Built on 21 transverse frames on approximately 60” centers with six bulkheads 3 of which are watertight, (forward collision bulkhead, forward engine room and aft engine room). There are six foam-cored longitudinal stringers each side that are approx. 7” x 5”. The four (4) bottom longitudinal stringers become the main engine girders in the engine room. The other two (2) are hull side stiffeners, (2) each side. The longitudinals and bulkheads are laminated to the hull with full tabbing that is done to a good standard. The deck is of fiberglass and foam core construction that is glassed to the hull. During the bilge examination, the hull construction was found to be in sound condition.
Fuel: There are five drop-in fuel tanks that are of aluminum construction fiber-glassed in place between longitudinals.
Water: Two Stainless Steel tanks
Holding: Integral
The stainless-steel fuel manifold is located on the port forward engine room bulkhead.
The Freshwater System is located starboard forward engine room.
2 X Hot Water Heaters:
Gray water from the head showers and sinks and possibly the AC condensate is collected in (3) fiberglass sump boxes and pumped via Rule 200 GPHH submersible pumps with float switches to a central polyethylene tank, then directly overboard via a Pneumatics diaphragm pump located in the crew bilge.
Black water is collected in the integral keel black water tank and is discharged via Edson diaphragm pump through the shore outlet fitting or directly overboard.

The main engines were examined by Ingalls Marine Diesel and the fallowing equipment was updated on the starboard generator:
• Onan PCB Board
• Onan Module NIM
Both Generators have had complete overhauls with alternator ends re-wound.
The vessel is fitted with two Cummins Onan IMO compliant single-phase generators. The main generators are wound single phase to produce 120/240 volts, 65Kw/ 65 Kva at 60 Hz and are four point resilient mounted and are located in individual sound shields in the engine room; each generator is resilient mounted and are driven by John Deere 80 Kw four stroke turbo charged after cooled diesel engines. Each generator is fitted with solid state voltage regulators, and local mounted digital multifunction meters on the main switchboard and wheelhouse console. The generators comply with NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards for temperature rise.
The vessel is equipped with an electrical generation and distribution system.
The vessels VAC system comprises of two Onan generators which are wound single phase to produce 120/240 volts @ 60 cycles, the generators are rated at 65 Kw/ 65Kva. The generators are fitted with Schneider electric LG400 over current protection breakers with micrologic 3.3S trip modules set to trip at 250 amps, the protection modules are responsible for detecting the presence of an electrical fault. When an electrical fault is detected, the trip unit “trips” the protection breakers causing it to open. The generators were originally designed to operate in automatic or manual modes, the system now only allows for manual operations, please refer to the electrical recommendations.
The main switchboard is located in the engine room forward and manufactured by Ocean Electro Systems LTD, Canada. The switchboard is designed to provide automatic control and power management, this system is now only operated in the manual mode, please refer to the electrical recommendations. The main switchboard is arranged with supply to the main buss from either of the main generators, or the shore power. The main switchboard is a split buss system, provisions have been made to allow the operator to separate the main buss bars, allowing the operator to open the buss into two sections should the power management system fail. Please refer to the recommendations. The main switchboard is arranged with the following:
• Port and starboard generator Cummins multifunction digital displays
• Delta T engine fan control panel.
• Digital voltmeter with selector switch able to select port generator or port shore power voltages.
• Digital voltmeter with selector switch able to selector starboard generator or starboard shore power voltages.
• Frequency meter with selector switch able to select generator or shore power frequency.
• Ground fault meter with test switch
• Bank I and 2 digital Kw meters
• Shore power available indicator lights
• Shore power or generator power select panel
• Wheelhouse distribution panel 1 over current protection breaker

• Schneider electric NSF250 starboard generator over current protection breaker with TM250D thermal magnetic protection module set to trip at 250 amps
• Moeller power management control PLC.
Shore Power:
The vessel is provided two shore power inputs, the shore power inputs are arranged with individual Glendenning CM-8 electric cord reels located port and starboard aft, shore input cords supplied are Wards Marine 2awg X 4 core cable. The shore power inputs are each fed through Schneider electric 100 amp over current protection breakers protection breakers located port and starboard lazarette, then the inputs are conditioned through ASEA master and slave shore power converters each rated at 25 Kva and are located in the lazarette. The converters interfaces electrical power between shore power supplies and the vessel’s distribution systems. The converter converts the shore power characteristics to a clean signal before going to the vessel’s distribution system, the converters output is then directed to the main switchboard mounted over current protection breaker, the shore power converters complies with the IEC and EN standards and CE directives.
Pumps, motors and fans installed onboard are individually over current protected, each system is start protected by the use of motor soft starters, frequency drives or start contactors. Each system is provided with marine grade constructed enclosures with clearly labeled operator switches and indicator lights. The motors are individually controlled by the respective indicator lights illuminated when the selected pump is running. The pumps were test operated and operated correctly unless mentioned in the recommendations.
