The American Tugs have well-thought out electrical systems that feature ABYC compliance, proper yacht cable wiring, Blue Seas electrical panels, Blue Seas smart battery combiners, AGM batteries and Magnum Energy inverter/chargers. These are all top of the line manufacturers.
The system as designed by American Tug is robust and sized such that the owners do not need to fuss over consumption. Alternator on the main engine feeds the house & engine start battery banks. Additionally she has a 2,800-watt Magnum Energy power inverter (Feeds all except the hot water) featuring a 100-amp multi-step battery charger.
Her shore power system is the 30-amp 120-volt standard allowing to be plugged in at any normal dock. The NORTHERN LIGHTS 8-kw M753W genset puts out 50-amps of power.
