Anna Marie is a 1987 Kadey Krogen 42, hull #114. The sellers are her third owner, and have spent the last twelve years on the Atlantic Coast. She is ready for a new owner looking for a classic trawler, designed with both life aboard and safe passage of any waterways in mind.
Some of the highlights of this Kadey Krogen 42 include: stabilizers, a centerline queen master berth, two generators, two inverters, a bow thruster, air conditioning, and a watermaker. All of these highlights add to her livability and cruising comfort. Anna Marie is capable of doing the Great Loop.
This boat is easily handled by two people and is economical to run with a cruising range in excess of 3,000 nm on 700 gallons of fuel. The full ballasted keel and protected running gear provide a measure of comfort in any cruising situation.
She has the lineage and workmanship associated with Kadey Krogen trawlers which truly makes her “At home on any sea!”

Anna Marie has a classic flybridge trawler design with a covered cockpit with teak-laid deck. Wing doors and wide covered teak-laid sidewalks lead to the teak-laid foredeck. Painted teak doors lead to the raised pilothouse on both the port and starboard sides. The flybridge is accessed via the cockpit ladder. There are entry gates in the hand rails at each of the pilothouse doors.
Double teak windowed doors with Phantom hideaway screens lead into the salon and galley area. The three level layout of the interior features steps down to the master stateroom, the head, and the guest stateroom/den. Steps lead up from the salon level to the pilothouse.
There are numerous teak hand-holds and grab-bars throughout the vessel.
Hull
The hull on Anna Marie is white glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) over coring, with fiberglass stringers. There is gold and green graphic striping. A solid full keel flairs from the bow to abaft of the mid-ships centerline.
Cockpit
The large cockpit on Anna Marie is the perfect place to watch a sunrise with your coffee or a sunset with your cocktail. The cockpit, sidewalks and foredeck on Anna Marie are all natural teak. The hand rails and toe rails are all finished teak.
The EdgeSta 120V icemaker is mounted on a custom platform next to the salon door, to port. A teak and stainless steel ladder, which is covered to keep out the elements, is to starboard. A covered Magma BBQ grill is on the aft transom to starboard. A centerline transom door leads to the teak swim platform, which has a fold-down swim ladder to starboard. A Lifesling MOB rescue system is mounted on the aft transom to port.
There is also a fresh water wash-down in the cockpit, an electrical outlet, and a 12V ceiling light. Teak paddles for the dinghy are mounted on the ceiling, and a rocket launcher fishing pole holder is mounted to port.
Access to the lazarette is in the sole of the cockpit.
Foredeck
The foredeck on Anna Marie is several steps up from the wide covered sidewalks. At the port steps the outside vent from the washer/dryer, two fresh water connections and one wash down connection, two 30amp power cord connections, and a phone/cable connection are all located.
The foredeck features a forward facing teak settee which has storage and a Plexiglas hatch into the master stateroom. Two deck prisms provide light into the master stateroom.
The teak pulpit has two stainless steel single-roller chain guides, and a stainless steel rub plate. The ground tackle includes a Galley Maid BBHW12-11 vertical windlass (non-operational) with gypsy, capstan, and foot controls, a 75# Super Max anchor with 200’ 3/8” chain, and a 44# Simpson Lawrence Delta anchor with 90’ chain and 200’ rode. There is also a raw water wash-down at the bow.
The entire foredeck can be covered by a custom canvas cover. The current owners do not use the cover or have it installed.
Flybridge
The flybridge on Anna Marie is accessed via the ladder in the cockpit. The sole is painted non-skid. A large dock box is mounted to starboard. A helm chair and two natural teak settees provide plenty of seating; the starboard settee houses the propane locker, while the port settee has some storage. The entire helm area is covered by a bimini with dark green Sunbrella canvas. There is a stainless steel ship’s wheel at the helm.
An aluminum steaming mast with a lift boom is on the flybridge deck. (The electric winch is non-operational.) Lighting is available with the spreader lights. A Taylor Made towing whip is stored on the flybridge, and can be installed on the swim platform. There are teak chocks for the tender.
Salon
Anna Marie features the beautiful teak joinery that is expected of a Kadey Krogen. There is a parquet sole throughout the vessel. Large windows, with blinds for privacy, provide ample natural light. The four hatches in the salon sole provide complete access to the engine room; the smaller hatch in the sole near the galley is hinged and latches for convenient engine room access.
A futon with storage drawers underneath is to starboard. A bookshelf is to port aft. The current owners have a recliner/rocker to port, as well as a folding double-leaf dining table. All of the furniture is free standing, and can be rearranged to suit your needs.
Lighting is provided by reading lights with shades, as well as two 12V ceiling fixtures. There is a mount for a flat screen television to port, but no television conveys with the vessel.
Galley
The pass-through U-shaped galley on Anna Marie is located on the same level as the salon, forward to starboard.
The galley appliances include: an eye-level Sanyo 120V AC refrigerator and an eye-level Avanti 120V AC freezer which both run off of one of the two inverters, and a Force-10 Marine LPG three burner stove and oven. Two 20# LPG tanks are in a vented locker on the flybridge; there is a Seaward 12V DC solenoid valve for fuel flow. A deep double sink with a single-lever pull-out faucet and a fresh water spigot are in the counter looking out toward the salon.
Galley storage includes: seven overhead cabinets with a shelf and louvered doors, pan storage under the oven, three large drawers under the refrigerator and freezer with dividers in the top drawer for silverware, four small drawers for cooking utensils next to the oven, a three shelf pantry next to the oven at counter level, in-counter storage, a double door cabinet under the sink with a louvered door and a shelf, a single door lower cabinet with two shelves, a custom spice rack over the refrigerator and freezer as well as a smaller spice rack at the range, and a large curtained storage area accessible from the salon, with a wire rack.
A custom fold-up counter extension provides an added food-prep and serving space. A CO detector and a control for a Wabasto AC unit are under this counter extension. The counters are all Formica. A small custom shelf can hold a toaster oven, and a microwave oven can be mounted above it; neither convey with the vessel.
Natural lighting and ventilation is provided by the opening portlight over the range. There are also two 12V ceiling fixtures and lights over the sink and range. The galley features also include: a fire extinguisher, numerous electrical outlets for small appliances, a propane control, two whale-tail brass hooks, and a padded chef’s mat for comfort while standing in the galley.
Across from the galley is additional storage which includes shelves and louvered door cabinets. One of the cabinets has racks to hang stemmed glassware, while another cabinet has a bottle storage rack. The electrical panels are located beneath the storage cabinets.
Master Stateroom
The master stateroom on Anna Marie is located forward, down a few steps from the salon level, through a companionway, which has a 12V ceiling light. The guest stateroom/den is to starboard and the head is to port. It is one step up from the companionway to the master stateroom.
The master stateroom features a desirable centerline queen-sized berth, with mounting steps. Access to the chain locker is behind the berth.
There is a tall dresser across from the berth which has eight large drawers and four small drawers; there are also six drawers under the berth. A dressing table to starboard has a mirrored cabinet which opens to reveal four shelves; there are two drawers under the dressing table.
There are full length double shelves on both sides of the berth, as well as a doubled door locker to starboard and a single door locker to port. The lighted double door hanging locker to port is full-length aft and ¾ length forward. There is a full length hanging bar, and three shelves in the locker, as well as a wall cabinet. A Wabasto AC control is located in the locker.
Natural light is available from the four opening portlights, the screened ceiling hatch, and the two deck prisms. There are two reading lights and two 12V ceiling lights. There are numerous electrical outlets and wall hooks in the master stateroom on Anna Marie.
Guest Stateroom/Den
The guest stateroom/den is located to starboard, forward of the galley and salon on Anna Marie and aft of the master stateroom. Berths for guests include the settee/berth to starboard or on the athwart ships Pullman berth.
The cabin is also outfitted with: a teak writing desk with drawer, bronze portlights, bookshelves, a nightstand, reading lights, under-berth drawers for storage, and a locker with shelves. There is also an open area for bulk storage or storage bins/baskets.
Natural light is available from the two opening portlights. There are both reading lights and a 12V ceiling light in this cabin. Multiple electrical outlets and hanging hooks can also be found in the guest stateroom/den.
Head
Across from the guest stateroom/den is the head on Anna Marie which is entered through a unique Dutch door. The head features: a Raritan electric freshwater head, a stainless steel bowl sink with a single-lever faucet, a mirrored medicine cabinet with shelves, a 12V ceiling light, a light over the medicine cabinet, an opening portlight, a Formica countertop, a teak toilet paper holder, electrical outlets, storage in two open shelves, two towel racks, and a rattan shelf.
The separate shower features: a shower curtain, a teak shower grate, an adjustable shower fixture, a seat, a teak bottle rack and towel bar, an opening portlight, a 12V ceiling light, and a brass hook.
Laundry
The Splendide WD802M combination washer/dryer is located behind a louvered door, to port, at the bottom of the steps leading from the galley forward. A large bulk storage cabinet with louvered door is beneath the laundry center.
Pilothouse
The pilothouse on Anna Marie can be accessed from the port and starboard teak Dutch doors on the sidewalks leading to the foredeck or by the steps leading up from the salon. A storage cabinet is at the top of the steps, to port. . Both pilothouse doors have Phantom hideaway screens.
A sturdy wood captain’s chair with a teak footrest is centerline, at the wood and stainless steel ship’s wheel. The helm station includes: a teak overhead instrumentation panel, a chart table with both chart and conventional drawers and a storage cabinet to port, three windows (no wipers), and a center top-hinged opening window. All of the windows have Text Ilene sun protection covers. There is access to the huge storage cabinet under the helm station, to starboard.
The settee aft, which can be used as a watch berth, has a full length fold-down step. There are two bronze portlights aft of the settee, and a double door storage cabinet under the settee. There is a bookshelf and end able to starboard at the settee, which has a shelved storage cabinet below.
A white/red 12V light fixture and safety hand-holds are on the ceiling of the pilothouse.
