The deck of BLUE PEARL has been well maintained and includes several notable upgrades from her sister ships. Starting forward, you will find a custom bowsprit for the gennaker and a recent stainless steel Ultra 100# anchor on an equally recent Maxwell windlass. You will find that all three foresail furling units are recent additions and of high specification. BLUE PEARL's exterior teak has been left to weather naturally, including the grab rails, toe rail, and rub rail.
Just in front of the mast is a custom deck locker for storing the gennaker and other equipment when not in use, freeing up space in the sail locker for other cruising gear. The deck locker frame ties into the forward dorade vents, giving it that factory look. There is the anchor locker that also has a storage area for docking gear, and a saltwater wash-down hose. Behind the anchor locker is a deep sail locker, with lots of space to store extra-sized cruising gear like folding bikes, paddle boards, etc. Moving aft, there are duplicate LPG tank lockers port and starboard, and on the transom, there are three lazarettes.
On the starboard aft railing, you will find a unique feature not seen on another Hylas is a custom-fitted folding table that can be used for cocktail hours, meal prep, or fish cleaning. When folded up and the folding support bar in place, the table is sturdy and horizontal. When folded down and locked in place, the table is completely out of the way. There are also two seats built into the corners of the aft railing, featuring stainless steel bases and seat cushions for the best comfort and durability.
The transom is set up with the best arrangement for bluewater cruising. There are two stainless steel electronics masts, one fitted with an outboard motor crane with a mounting block on the port aft rail. The liferaft is in a quick-release stern rail holder that allows for immediate use in an emergency. Top-of-the-line stainless steel Simpson davits handle the Highfield tender and also have a set of solar panels atop them.
