Carmela is a Beneteau Oceanis 48, featuring a shoal draft and a spacious layout with three cabins and two heads. Known for its roomy interior and generous cockpit, it's designed for comfortable long-distance cruising. Equipped for the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), it includes in-mast furling. Amenities for long-term living aboard include air conditioning with reverse-cycle heat, a generator with AGM batteries, electric primary winches, a bow thruster, extra fuel, and water tanks, and a dock-and-go system for precise docking in tight spaces. She has a state-of-the-art swim platform that smoothness your transition to the waters or dinghy.
Carmela is a one-owner sailboat that provided short-term day tours, all captained by her licensed owner. However, she has never been available for bareboat or overnight charters.
Carmela features plumbing upgrades that allow the flushing of the engine and generator, both sets of AC systems with fresh water, and toilets that flush with fresh or salt water. In addition, it has a freshwater coiled hose at the anchor locker, oversized bronze Groco strainers, and one additional high-water bilge pump.
Electrical upgrades include a 4200-watt lithium-power Eco-flow system that goes through the GFCI factory electrical protection. This system allows 14 hours of sailing without using the engine or generator while maintaining the GPS, autopilot, fridge, and separate freezer, microwave, and coffee machine running. Plus, an extra smaller battery charger keeps the voltage of the domestic battery bank at 12.1v while using the Eco-flow system. She also has LED underwater lights.
