CHANTY, designed by Bruce King and built by Zimmerman Marine, has been maintained in like new condition by her original owners. CHANTY has been stored indoors every year since built.
Her distinctive wishbone ketch rig draws attention wherever she sails and provides a wide range of sail possibilities. Even so, with full hydraulics and five sails on roller furlers, two people can easily manage her.
Yachting Magazine featured her in a cover story and WoodenBoat Magazine devoted 9 pages to this beautiful yacht (May 1995).
CHANTY is one of those rare offerings - beautiful design, high quality construction, one owner committed to impeccable maintenance. You have to see this boat to appreciate the beauty and detail.

Zimmerman Marine built this Bruce King designed gem to the highest standards. King designed her to be easily managed by a couple and the wishbone ketch rig provides a wide range of sail configurations.
Her cold-molded WEST System hull consists of Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar, sheathed in fiberglass cloth, and finished with AwlGrip paint for a maintenance free hull. The interior hull planking has been left exposed in some accommodation areas to show the beauty of the wood. The interior has a classic finish - white raised panel bulkheads with Honduras mahogany trim and accents. The cherry cabin sole blends well with the mahogany and adds a warm feeling.
CHANTY's curved companionway stairs lead into the main cabin. The main cabin features a u-shaped dinette with a large elegantly shaped mahogany table. A settee faces in from the opposite (port) side.
The galley includes a u-shaped Corian counter top and sink, with a built in cold-plate refrigerator and propane stove.
The owner's cabin is uniquely positioned aft under the bridge deck. The ample double berth with facing settee and mahogany dresser provide a comfortable sleeping space. The cabin includes an head and shower.
The guest cabin with a side double fits nicely into the bow, maximizing privacy for owners and guests. A second head and shower adjoins the guest cabin.
CHANTY's wishbone ketch rig provides a distinctive and versatile set of options for a variety of sailing conditions. The rig has been set up to be easily handled by a couple. Other than the headsail, all sails are self tacking. Hydraulic roller furlers make getting underway and coming in nearly effortless. Hydraulic primary winches trim the headsail.
Masts and booms are carbon fiber with AwlGrip finish and rod rigging.
