General Description

Previously named Turmalina when it was originally built in 1996, Crucero Amazonas came to fruition after the redesign, modernization, and rebuild in 2016 that resulted in the steel hull/ wooden superstructure vessel that it is today. Re-purposed to accommodate Amazonian expeditions to its guests, this vessel has provided its passengers with awe-inspiring journeys into the most mystical forest in the world. 

 

Crucero Amazonas is fully certified by the Peruvian Maritime Authority and is also a Certified Tour Operator granted by the Regional Government of Loreto and has an Operating Permit awarded by the Directorate of Aquatic Transport of Peru.

Below Deck

The hull is transversely divided by four watertight transverse bulkheads. Starting from
the bow, the ladder that goes down to the deck is located on the strut. In the first compartment, there is the water feed pump, the water pre-treatment tank and two thermal baths. In a second compartment is the water filter equipment composed of two purifiers and a pump, five tanks of treated water, as well as crew cabins. In the third compartment are stored tools, a tank, three tanks for sewage, and two tanks for oil storage. In the
fourth compartment is the engine room composed of a Caterpillar propulsion engine, 2 generators (Olympian and Cummins generators), electrical control boxes, auxiliary expansion oil tank, the electro pump with connection to the bilge and bottom intake, as well as pipes. The engine room has an emergency access and exit staircase that leads to the crew dining room.

First Deck

In the bow area, in the strut, there is the hatch with a ladder to the lower deck and then another ladder towards the third deck. There are also six guest suites and two management suites, divided by a hallway that ends in the entrance areas, with a door on each side and a staircase to the second deck. The suites have showers and sinks, air conditioning, queen and twin beds, bathrooms, closets, hair dryers, safe, smoke detector, tables with two chairs, night tables, a desk with a chair, panoramic windows and wooden finishes. Towards the stern, entering through a hallway, there are two full bathrooms for the crew, continuing on you reach the galley and the crew mess next to which is the access staircase to below deck and, beside the staircase, a room with a full bathroom for four female crew members.

Second Deck

Starting from the bow there are six guest suites divided by a hallway that ends in a
staircase to the third deck, towards the stern a galley and guest dining room. The suites have showers and sinks, air conditioning, queen and twin beds, bathrooms, closets, hair dryers, safes, smoke detectors, tables with two chairs, nightstands, desks with a chair, windows with panoramic views and wood finishes. In addition, facing the bow, is the Prestige suite, with a 180-degree view, king bed, bathroom, sinks, closet, hair dryer, safe, smoke detector, small living room, minibar, two air conditioners and wooden finishes.

Third Deck

In the bow is the helm station, on the left side there is a staircase to the viewpoint and entering through the left door to the lounge bar, we find a storage room and men's bathroom. On the opposite side we find the ladies' bathroom and going out through the right door, towards the bow, is a room with a bathroom for the crew. Midship of the third deck, there is the lounge bar with a library, a bar, a large room, a staircase to the second deck, an administrative office, and a massage room. The entire lounge bar is closed and has a panoramic view. Going out towards the stern, there is the jacuzzi with lounge chairs for relaxation.

Observation Deck

The observation platform, located on the fourth deck, is covered by an awning. Here, from above you can see nature, take photos, rest, read, relax, or do yoga. In the back there are the air conditioning motors, separated by wooden slats.
