Footloose Boat | 50' Bavaria 2003
Footloose, a 2003 Bavaria 49, is ready to go cruising with a long list of system updates that include a Raymarine Axiom chartplotter, autopilot and Vesper AIS system. The current owners have outfitted the boat for cruising to Alaska with hydronic diesel heat, Katadyn DC water maker, a 1780 AH battery capacity, and Air Breeze wind generator.
The four cabin three head layout is spacious and modern with Mahogany woodwork that puts newer boats to shame. While there are bunks to sleep nine crew the powerful sail plan is easily controlled by a shorthanded crew with an in-mast furling main sail, furling 145% genoa and furling asymmetrical spinnaker.
The Bavaria 49 was designed by J&J Design and built in Giebelstadt, Germany. Footloose is an excellent example of this well-built and timeless design. She is a great platform for your Alaskan or tropical cruising adventures.

Accommodations:
Footloose features a stunning Mahogany interior that is rarely found on newer boats. The large opening ports and hatches provide natural light that keeps the interior warm and inviting but not dark. You’ll find three hidden, top-opening storage areas around the salon for glasses and bottles. The seating cushions are white leather and in excellent condition. There is ample storage in the row of bulkhead cabinets that surround the settee and continue into the galley.
The u-shaped galley has a front opening refrigerator and top loading freezer. The clever design provides a comfortable and safe place to cook at anchor or underway. The galley is well equipped with a two burner propane stove, microwave and ice-maker.
The nav station features a full-sized chart desk with storage beneath as well as easy access to the AC/DC distribution panel, battery monitor and VHF radio.
The large aft cabins have double bunks with generous storage closets. The seating in front of the closets makes getting dressed more pleasant. They have excellent cross ventilation from an overhead hatch and porthole that are protected by the dodger and can be open during rainy weather; a feature you’re sure to appreciate in the Caribbean or Northwest. There are two aft heads with electric flush toilets.
The forward cabins provide flexibility to accommodate guests or provide extra storage. The cabin forward of the salon has a single bunk to starboard and double bunk to port. This cabin has an ensuite head and is used by the current owners as the primary cabin. In front of this cabin is a v-berth that is being used as extra storage but can easily accommodate additional crew.
