With plenty of space to relax and rest below, and with a cockpit that will be the ultimate gathering spot for family and friends, buyers looking for a comfortable home on the water that sails as well should check out this beautiful Hunter 450 Center Cockpit.
This great Hunter 450 is loaded with upgrades and features making it a great choice for the cruising family. The hard wired onboard 8KW generator will ensure plenty of back up power too. Spacious living space below with a good sized galley (lots of freezer and fridge capacity), salon with hi/lo table and custom coffee table. The two staterooms each feature ensuite heads with showers. On deck there is no teak to worry about. All lines lead to the cockpit for easy short handed sailing. The cockpit features long bench seating and is protected by a large Bimini top.

Accommodations
The Hunter 450 layout is impressive with space below that rivals much larger yachts. The aft primary stateroom is huge with a large center line bed, abundant storage and separate shower / tub. The guest stateroom forward features its own ensuite head as well. In the salon, there is a long settee to port and comfortable U shaped dining area to starboard. The large dining table can be raised all the way to the cabin top to make room when needed. Plenty of opening ports and overhead hatches let in the natural light. Interior headroom is 6’4” to 7'2'.

Owner’s Comments
“At the time I purchased Free Wind in 2014, it had 152 hours on the engine and 93 hours on the generator. Ten years later the engine now has only 828 hours and the genset 361. (I mostly sail!) It had previously been owned by an investment banker on Wall Street. I took delivery of her at the Sterling Marina in Greenport, NY. after conducting a purchase survey.
Free Wind has been pulled every spring for bottom power wash and Petit ablative paint. The hull has always been blister-free as of her last out haul in July 2024. Her hull has also been waxed and buffed after each bottom job.
While her calculated hull speed is 8.387 kts, she motors at 8.3 - 8.5 kts at slack tide. I have had her under sail hit 9.8-10.0 kts while surfing along in 16-18 kt winds. Her Genaker has produced 6.3 kts in 4.8 kt winds. Motoring consumes 1.4 gal/hr with Genset running as well. There is a 94 gal fuel tank and three water tanks totaling approximately 200 gal.”
