This Universal Shipbuilding 36 is a strong boat from the late 80s that thanks to her rugged construction, comfortable accommodations and classic good looks will attract attention at the docks and on the water. It will please your charter customers and provide a good living for it's new owner. It is a hansom design and the sheer is similar to modern designs. It features a sharp deadrise hull with a shallow rounded bottom and well flared bow. The twin Cat 3208 engines will allow her to cruise comfortably at 16 Knots @ 2250 rpm burning 14 gal/hr loaded. The asking price includes Gulf of Mexico Charter Permits for 17 passengers for both Reef and Pelagic Fish. Owner is willing to sell the boat without the permits - make an offer
The boat features an airconditioned cabin and head. The bridge deck has an enormous amount of room for customer seating with large cabin windows. The protected lower helm has a full instrument package. Her Aluminum powder coated tower also has a full instrument package and is a great advantage when fishing. Lee's double spreader outriggers, 10 gunwale mounted rod holders and 10 rod holders on the back of the tower compliment the fishing package. The cockpit is 80 square feet of usable fishing space making larger charters possible and comfortable for all involved.
This boat was built in 1988. The current owner purchased it in 1998 and had it totally disassembled to the last weldment for USCG Inspection. It was totally rewired to USCG approved drawings. New shafts, struts, rudders, tanks etc were installed. All to gain the COI. The Tuna tower was added. Structural members added to meet ABS high speed criteria. The cabin was refitted. All the documentation with USCG approvals are included with purchase.
The owner/captain has professionally and continuously maintained and updated the boat. It was fully detailed in 2017. The engines were fully remanufactured in 2019 and currently have 2000 hours on rebuild. New Nibral props were installed in 2019, new 1.75" shafts in 2023, New bottom paint in 2023. The electronics are modern.
The owner is from a family of Gulf Coast professional fishermen and grew up on the water. He is now ready to retire and allow someone else make a good living with this boat. Price includes Gulf Charter permits for reef and migratory pelagic fish.
