ONE SHOT of COWES has arrived in the USA! She is a stunning head turner that was built in Italy by Advanced Yachts. She has spent her life cruising the Mediterranean and this year the owners decided to explore the other side of the Atlantic. One Shot of Cowes will be based in the NE USA and will be viewable by appointment only.
This is a high performance cruising yacht that is fun to sail.

Advanced Yachts hit the ball out of the ballpark when they produced One Shot of Cowes. Combining two of the best design houses in the world, Reichel-Pugh and Nauta Design, they sought out to create something special. To quote Advanced Yachts, “Our boats are designed to sail in all oceans. Designed and built with the utmost attention to safety, ensuring the owner can sail with extreme tranquility in all sea and wind conditions.”
Quoting the two design offices, Nauta describes the new 66’ yacht thus: “Modernity, ease of handling and seduction are the key words for the design we created for Advanced Yachts. We designed the yacht with an aggressive, new-generation hull shape that features large, load-bearing aft volumes and deck geometries that communicate a sense of speed and efficiency.
The almost oversized cockpit evokes a relaxing, summer cruise atmosphere while the large glass surfaces on the coachroof make sailing truly enjoyable in any season. Below deck, we have created a welcoming environment with a large, open space saloon and 360-degree wraparound windows. Separate areas for different functions make life on board as comfortable as at home”.
Reichel-Pugh describes the Advanced 66 thus: “Stability and performance, together with wide volumes, are the goals we attained in designing this hull. The shape of the rudder and the profile of the fin are the result of state-of-the-art research aimed at delivering high speeds and blistering performance as well as allowing helmsmen perfect control and easy handling in any kind of navigation and weather condition.
The development and optimization of these geometries are based on the constant flow of information that our studio gathers in real time from its yachts: Maxis, Mini-maxis and TP52s that compete with great success all over the world. The wide maximum beam that runs uninterrupted all the way to the stern yields an unusually large saloon area for a yacht of this size. These elements together with the most advanced technologies allowed us to create a design of unmatched beauty that performs incredibly well under sail yet is outstandingly easy to handle.”
Overall, the outcome has produced a beautiful yacht that is fun to sail, has been fast, reliable and comfortable for its owners and guests.

CABINS: 4 Guest cabins + 1 Crew cabin
LOCATED IN: Newport, RI USA
ACCOMMODATION & INTERIOR
One Shot of Cowes has an extremely versatile interior layout. There are four guest cabins and an additional crew cabin for two. The interior woodwork is a light wood with whitewash treatment to provide an extremely light and modern look. Light colored upholstery keeps the interior light and “soft”.
Starting in the bow, there is a fully fitted out crew cabin for two. It has over under berths, plenty of storage and an en-suite head. The cabin is air conditioned and has a crew dodger for the hatch.
Next aft from the bow is the sumptuous primary cabin. The large berth offset to port has storage underneath. There are plenty of drawers and hanging lockers to handle an abundance of clothing. The head is forward of the sleeping area so that the head of the berth is at the maximum width of the cabin. The shower is very large and there is plenty of space on the vanity to comfortably get ready for a night out on the town!
Aft of the main bulkhead and mast is the galley to port and a bunk room to starboard. The bunk room has over/under berths, as well as a hanging locker and drawers. This cabin can double as a storage area if not needed for sleeping.
The galley is a chef’s delight! It Is positioned at the front of the saloon where the boat is a bit narrower, maximizing the saloon area with more beam. The galley is a few steps down from the saloon level which puts the people in the galley at conversational height with the others in the saloon. This makes for a happy chef, as they are not left out of the conversations of the day. They galley is very well equipped, has wonderful lighting and plenty of storage.
The saloon is amazing! Very bright and comfortable due to the expansive deckhouse windows and overhead skylight. To starboard is a convertible seating and lounge area, and to port is an oversized dining table/area. The table features a hidden storage area beneath the tabletop. The saloon is the heart One Shot of Cowes and when you experience it, you will be in love with it. The Nauta design team did an amazing job with the entire interior, but especially the saloon/galley/nav areas.
At the aft end of the saloon is a large storage area to port and a full nav station to starboard. The nav area is large, comfortable and well suited for taking a phone call, working remotely or charting the course for the next day. It is also very inclusive in the saloon/galley area, thus keeping “community” as the guiding principle of the yacht.
The aft guest cabins are next aft on port and starboard. Each has an en-suite head and separate stall shower. The starboard cabin head has an access from the saloon area that goes through the shower area to allow use as a day head if there are guests in the starboard cabin. Both of these cabins have an abundance of light, ventilation and storage. The berths are very large and comfortable.
Aft of the two guest cabins is an extremely large storage area that is accessible from the aft deck of the cockpit. The large hatch allows one to store larger items easily. Access to the steering system is very easy via this hatch, with servicing a dream as everything is right at your fingertips.
One Shot of Cowes was conceived as a performance cruiser. She has race boat pedigree in her hull lines, construction and rigging. At the same time, there has been nothing spared to make comfort and style the top priority for the guests in the on-deck seating area and down below in the common and sleeping areas. Again, a testimonial to Nauta Design, they created a stunning interior that rivals yachts much larger.
The hull is built to be light and strong with super clean hull lines for minimal resistance. Of note, the boat was originally built with a retractable bow sprit and retractable anchoring arm. Through use of the boat and evolution of the technology, it was decided to replace these with a simple fixed bow sprit with integral anchoring system. Complexity and maintenance were replaced with simplicity, safety and reliability.
One Shot of Cowes is built to: CE certified for Category A (unlimited ocean voyages)

Keeping with the philosophy of lighter and stiffer is faster, One Shot of Cowes is equipped with a Hall Spars carbon mast. Hall is world-renowned for making extremely stiff and light masts. Both attributes help drive the boat fast, but also reduce pitching and heel.
The same can be said for the EC6 carbon standing rigging. The carbon stays are a game changer, much like when carbon masts replaced aluminum ones. The carbon rigging saves an immense amount of weight aloft, which further reduces pitching and heel, but also its super clean construction reduces windage.
The rig is set up with an easily removable inner staysail. This can be stored for easy access in a life-line bag when not in use. This quick access allows for easy tacking of the jib when down or easy set up for heavy weather as conditions change.
