INTRODUCTION:

RADAR has always been yacht yard maintained with an open check book level of care. She has returned to Hunt Yachts several times for numerous upgrades as recently as 2021.

Recent betterments to RADAR include:

Winter 2021 Hinckley/Hunt Yacht Service Major Service

All cushions and helm chairs recovered in Reflections Sand and Dark Green Piping with custom channeling
New Bimini top, side curtains and backdrop
Major 500-hour engine service performed. The engine was removed and reinstalled. Coolers cleaned and pressure tested and replaced with new gaskets. Injectors were sent out and serviced. All engine hoses and clamps were replaced. All seawater hoses were replaced. The engine, bilge and drive shaft were cleaned, primed and painted to reduce corrosion. The oil pan was replaced. Secondary fuel pump was replaced. Racor filter housing were cleaned and the fuel was polished. Fuel tank valves were cleaned, primed and painted. New belts installed. The engine box was cleaned and degreased.
Major drive service performed. Drive steering arm, bushings and steering knuckle replaced. Output seals, drive bearings and shims replaced.

The props were sent out and reconditioned.
Bow thruster serviced and shear pin replaced.
The engine electrical harness was replaced.
All head tank hoses were replaced.
Shower sump replaced.
The Co2 detector in cabin replaced.

COCKPIT:

The deck layout of the Surfhunter 29 is that of the classic New England cuddy cabin. Her cabin is forward and accessed from the companionway to port of the helm pedestal seats. Next aft is the L-shaped cushioned settee incorporating the front of the engine box. The aft cockpit is spacious and open and features an aft facing seat on the engine box.

Helm Station:

The helm station is to starboard and offers excellent visibility either standing or sitting in the comfortable helm chair. All controls are within easy reach and logically laid out. The electrical breaker panel is outboard of the helm seat.

INTERIOR:

Through the forward folding cuddy companionway door is the spacious cabin finished in white gelcoat with cherry trim. Accommodations for two includes a V-berth with cushions, full galley to port, and spacious head to starboard. The below decks accommodations on the Surfhunter 29 are extremely well thought out and offer excellent utilization of space for weekends and light cruising.

Berth- forward:

A full-length V-Berth with filler provides ample sleeping space for two. A large Lewmar overhead hatch with screen and three Lewmar opening ports with screens provide excellent natural ventilation.

Head- starboard

The large, full stand-up head is aft to starboard and features a large Corian vanity, plenty of storage, and an opening port. There is also a solar powered ventilator on the overhead for continuous passive ventilation. The telescoping fixture at the sink hangs on the bulkhead along with a removable shower curtain to convert the space into a shower. The molded nonskid shower pan is easy to clean and features an automatic sump pump.
