Sorcerer II is a 95 foot performance cruiser designed by German Frers constructed of composite GRP/EGlass/Kevlar by TP Cookson in New Zealand. She is equipped with a Southern Spars carbon rig, in-boom furling, three headsails and hydraulic sail controls. As such, this powerful performance yacht can be easily managed by only 2 crew. Over the past 25 years she has been maintained to the highest standards with timely refits, rigging replacements, mechanical overhauls and paintwork.
Sorcerer II offers sumptuous guest accommodations for up to eight in the Owner’s party, with two guest staterooms and the Owner’s suite aftand two double crew cabins with ensuites and galley/lounge forward. Her raised salon with full navigation/controls offers excellent visibility and provides a remarkable sense of spaciousness for dining and lounging. The lower salon area includes a library/theater area to port and an office area to starboard.
As to seaworthiness, the windshield in her main salon is laminated, tempered glass, 1” thick! Likewise, all her portholes and fixed ports were upgraded from plexiglass to tempered glass. She has five watertight bilge areas with multiple bilge pumps and alarms and a walk-in engine room with watertight door. Her maintenance is streamlined by design for easy access to all systems, with engineering by John Cable Engineering of Aukland, NZ.
Her main cockpit offers simple access to all sailing systems and controls, along with a fully protected lounge and entertainment area forward. The helm station has an oversize wheel and protected helm seat, with cable steering for full sensitivity, controls for all systems; autopilot, main sheet & traveler, 50 hp bow & stern thrusters plus all navigation information and systems instrumentation. Redundant systems such as generators, primary anchors, air conditioning chillers, hydraulic systems, charging systems, bilge pumps, 3 headsails, and 5 heads make her a trustworthy world voyager.
In sum, Sorcerer II is a magnificent blend of exceptional performance from her German Frers hull and easily managed sail plan, with generous accommodations and remarkable engineering for exploring the far points of the globe in absolute safety, comfort and style. She is quite simply, a yacht that lives like a castle and sails like a dream.
A decade ago Sorcerer II participated in a world-wide scientific research program, the Global Ocean Sampling Expedition, studying the genetic diversity of the marine microbial world in all of the world’s major oceans, visiting 23 countries and island groups on four continents. The YouTube video 'Cracking The Ocean Code" showcases her capabilities, including the support of dive operations and highlights her suitability for long distance voyages.
Sorcerer II has also displayed her performance capabilities in various ‘Bucket’ regattas and other superyacht racing events, so she can either be efficiently handled by a capable crew of two, or by 25 professional sailors at the top levels of competition. She has most of the features of larger yachts but is still manageable by a small crew and truly fun to sail!

Five steps down from the center cockpit is the main salon with an extremely comfortable layout.
The area offers extraordinary views with wraparound windows and is a perfect setting for relaxing, entertaining and dining.
The forward end is the navigation station and shipboard monitoring systems with three generous chart drawers. Immediately forward is a plush helm chair with additional machinery controls to starboard and a full display of electronics, repeaters from cockpit instruments, radar and a computer screen. The chair is set for a clear view of the foredeck and horizon.
On the port side aft is a wet bar with a glass front cabinet for crystal and stemware, a drinks refrigerator and an ice maker. A full-length curved sofa outboard provides seating for four at the dining table facing three comfortable dining chairs on center-line.
This well-designed galley layout located to port and is ideal for cooking underway as well as at anchor. There are three refrigerator/freezers new in 2018. The stainless steel stove is gimballed, there is ample freezer capacity, a new dishwasher & oven and an abundance of pantry storage. The crew dinette/lounge is on the starboard side of the galley.
The Master Stateroom is fully aft with a private entrance to the aft Owner’s cockpit. The stateroom has a king size centerline berth, fitted with lee cloths for comfortable offshore sleeping. The stateroom offers comfortable settee seating to starboard, full hanging lockers forward with a wine cooler and a gracious ensuite head with bathtub and shower. There is also a desk and office area adjacent to the private cockpit access.
Forward of the Master stateroom are the port and starboard mirrored guest cabins. Both cabins have twin berths that can be converted to one queen size berth. Additional pullman berths in each cabin fold up into the inboard wall when not in use, blending into the soft furnishing of the bulkheads. Both cabins are fitted with full height hanging lockers and ensuite heads with stall showers.
Forward of the main salon, the fully separate crew quarters begin with the full-beam galley and food preparation area, with a full crew lounge, plus two crew staterooms with over and under single berths, ensuite heads and stowage in drawers and lockers. There is a private mid-deck hatch forward for access without interrupting guests aft.
The versatile electrical system is a combination of New Zealand industrial power for the big loads and battery low voltage general boat systems. Her efficiency is such that she can operate on battery power with the generator off for extended periods or operate on the small 16kw generator when air conditioning and cooking are required. She has been fitted with adapters to the New Zealand power so that she can plug in to American shore power or anywhere in the world from 200 volts to 480 volts and function well on as little as a 50 amp shore connect. Lighting, alarms, navigation, instruments and entertainment and are all battery powered and not dependent on generator or shore power. The small generator is standard US 240v 60 hz which can be sourced and replaced anywhere in the US in a matter of days and has been replaced 3 times providing 90% of the power off the dock over the last 20 years
