It was not too far before the launch of this model that 53’ motor yachts had twin beds in the master, two engine rooms, ladder to the flybridge, etc.
Then the Lazzara family designed the Gulfstar 55’ with a king size master, two double bed cabins, easy interior stairs to the flybridge and a full beam engine room.
Viking saw the brilliance of this design and bought the Gulfstar molds and designs and refined them further to be one of the largest 55’ boats on the market.
Still popular, this model makes an excellent liveaboard but also a great cruising yacht.

Further aft is the full beam salon with a wet bar to starboard and a fully walkaround glass dining table for six to port followed by a three cushion sofa and coffee table. To starboard are comfortable stairs to the flybridge, the yacht’s entertainment center and an occasional chair. Aft outside sliding doors is a line handling deck and access to the swim platform. Occupying the same physical space as the stairs to the bridge are steps below to the private master cabin. At the base of the stairs is a laundry room and access to the full beam engine room.
