Feeling Yachts go all the way back to 1912 when the Kirié shipyard, founded by the Kiriéfamily, set up shop in a small garage on Rue de la Forêt in the Sables d'Olonne. The shipyard originally built small sailing boats. In the 1950s, production turned more towards speed boats. In the late ‘60s, the shipyard expanded and moved to the Château d'Olonne near the Sables d'Olonne. It was one of the first to work with polyester. In the early ‘80s, Kirié launched a range of habitable power cruise ships called "Feeling". In 1986, the 13.5m Feeling won the Route du Rhum in the standard boat category and the 10.9m Feeling was voted "Boat of the year" in 1987.
In 2000, Alliaura Marine took over the Kirié shipyard. As of 2010, Feeling was owned by Privilège Marine Groupe. While Feelings are no longer in production, Privilège continues today and are well known for their line of catamarans.
The Feeling 546 was designed as a fast sea going cutter by Ron Holland and Andrew Winch and built in fiberglass. Due to her quality construction, large fresh water and fuel tanks, the electricity production and the huge livable and storage volumes, this Feeling 546 is an excellent sailboat for life aboard all year long and to sail the world. The large cockpit, with twin steering stations, offers a lot of comfort when anchored or while at sea.
Our offering, TENACIOUS, was the last 546 built and was for the personal use of the owner of the Kirié Shipyard. Her current owner is her third. Under his care, he has invested significantly in upgrading her, as you will see in the listing details. At this point in his life, he is ready to move on to other things, so he has decided it is also time to part with the boat that has provided him with a home and safe passages for years.
TENACIOUS is a solid boat, a ship to go to sea in knowing it will protect you. The fit and finish are impressive and her rugged built is evident throughout. She’s equipped to take you anywhere and, for a boat her size, for not a whole lot of money. At the dock (or wherever you are), she is a spacious home. Underway, she awaits the opportunity to safely take her next caretakers wherever their dreams take them.
Call today and make an appointment to come see her before she is gone!

Master stateroom: The focal point of the master stateroom as you enter is the island queen berth. On either side of the berth at the head are nightstand surfaces on either side, with storage beneath both. Teak staving lines the hullsides and above the nightstands are double door lockers on either side. Aft of that is more staving, with opening ports in the hull. On the starboard side below the port area is a fiddled shelf area, with top access as well as an opening door to storage below. Aft of that is a full height hanging locker.
On the port side is a dressing table, with an oval mirror above it and storage beneath the lid. The leather upholstered seat faces aft, with storage below it. Galley: The galley on the Feeling 546 is enormous and has loads of counterspace. L-shaped, it is to the right between the aft cabins and the salon. Starting at the aft end along the hull, there is a tip-out bin with shelves to the right of the stove and a lift-up in the countertop with storage below. Moving around to the left is the stove, with a cubby space and drawer beneath it for pots and pans. To the left of the stove is a front-loading refrigerator space, followed by a top loading freezer space. Both units are lined with stainless steel and function as a spill-over system for cooling the refrigeration space. Along the hull behind the countertops are the microwave and three large lockers.
The counter L’s out at this point, with a large locker beneath the single sink and a double door unit with integral drawers to the left of that. On top is a smaller sink with a Corian/cutting board insert and a round lift-up Corian lid for access to the rubbish bin. There are tall teak sculpted fiddles surrounding the countertops and a continuous grab rail runs along the hull above the lockers, providing good handholds throughout.
Aft head: The aft head is located on port between the nav station and the aft cabin. The space is predominantly fiberglass, keeping maintenance easy. Headroom in here is 6’3”; as you enter the space the head is directly ahead of you and the sink is to your left. The toilet sits in a niche and has a locker above it. Moving around toward the sink are upper and lower lockers, with another locker under the sink as you continue around. Above the round sink is a mirrored door medicine cabinet and a shelf area beside that. There is a shower wand on a slide bar to the left of the sink. A teak shower grate covers most of the floor. There is an overhead hatch with a shade, two LED lights and a dorade vent.
Aft staterooms: The aft cabins are identical and mirrored in layout. As one enters, outboard is a full height hanging locker, followed by a curved teak countertop with a round sink. Beneath the sink is a locker with a curved door. That curves around toward the hull and has a lifting vanity top with storage beneath and a locker above and forward of the lid. The berth is queen size. Teak staving lines the hull and a pair of large teak panels are on centerline and provide access to the engine compartment. The space is well lit and bright; there are opening ports to the cockpit and on the hull, with an opening hatch overhead and one fixed light as well. There are three overhead lights for further illumination; the 6’4” headroom makes it feel even more bright and spacious.

RIGGING
In 2019, the mast was unstepped, stripped down and repainted. At that time, the wiring, lighting and masthead instruments were replaced, as were the sheaves. The standing rigging was all dye tested; items showing wear were replaced at that time.
