UPSHORT is a stunning Talaria 44 MKII in simply exceptional condition. She combines the traditional T44 layout and Bruce King aesthetics with features found only on more modern Hinckleys- common rail engines, powered windows and overhead hatches, and a fully hydraulic JetStick system, complimented by new Garmin electronics and a FLIR camera.
A freshwater boat until 2023, she is now in the brackish Chesapeake Bay waters and winters in Hinckley Service’s heated indoor facility in Easton, MD.
UPSHORT is now offered with Hinckley’s Silver Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Warranty, featuring a 1-year powertrain warranty.
INTRODUCTION:
Hinckley’s MKII iteration of the extremely popular Talaria 44 incorporates many “new boat” technologies that further improve an already excellent model. From smooth and quiet common rail engines to a robust hydraulic system that powers the bow thruster, 12 volt (mono voltage system), and power opening pilothouse side windows and hatches. All of this while retaining the features that made her extremely popular- a large and airy pilothouse that flows into the spacious aft cockpit yet can be enclosed off with curtains for climate-controlled comfort. Below is a full galley and U-shaped dinette that converts into a second berth. Forward is the master stateroom with centerline queen berth and the head features a separate shower compartment.

DECK & HULL:
Construction:
DualGuard Composite Construction and SCRIMP (vacuum bagged resin infusion) process.
The hull features Hinckley's DualGuard construction with a skin coat of chopped E-glass mat in low shrink Vinylester resin, an outer skin of Kevlar/E-glass, a core of segmented end grain resin-infused aircraft grade balsa and high-density foam, and an inner skin of carbon fiber.
The deck has an E-glass outer and inner skin with aircraft grade end grain balsa and closed cell foam core, all laminated with Vinylester resin using the SCRIMP process.
In such areas as the hull/deck connecting flange, jet intakes, and all through-hull fittings, the core is eliminated and the hull is reinforced with additional layers of fiberglass. A reinforcement stringer system is inserted into the hull, and the completed laminate (hull stringer system included) is then SCRIMPed. The patented SCRIMP process, an advanced, closed-molding, resin infusion technique, uses a strong vacuum to saturate or infuse the "sandwich" with Vinylester resin in a single step. Marelon ball-valve type seacocks are installed flush with the hull (bronze for main engine). The hull structure is supported by a combination of foam cored FRP stiffeners laminated to the hull, and structural bulkheads. These materials and building techniques provide for a superior surface finish, greater resistance to osmosis, a higher degree of stiffness and stiffness/weight ratios, greater hull strength against impact damage, and thermal insulation.
Deck features:
COCKPIT:
Entry to the natural teak decked cockpit is either from the side decks or from the transom. A centerline transom door with stainless steel latch and hinges opens on to the swim platform. Molded-in aft facing seats have hidden lockers behind, and forward facing seats on the transom have removable bases. It is a very comfortable and open space.
PILOTHOUSE:
The pilothouse is one step up from the aft cockpit and offers excellent visibility through three forward tempered glass, fixed windows with windshield wipers & washers, and two powered sliding side windows. Forward are two Stidd 500N powered helm seats in the helm area (starboard) and navigator area (port). Aft of the port Navigators chair is an L-shaped seating settee with a varnished teak table. This table is mounted on a chrome-finished pedestal with teak trim ring that can be adjusted up and down. To starboard is a second L-shaped seating settee. This area has the varnished teak package (liners, dash, and trim), a sound dampening overhead, and two varnished teak handrails. The pilothouse encloses with an aft 3-piece enclosure providing a climate-controlled environment in inclement weather.
